Blue Path Carbon Capture – (100,000 tonnes per annum)

Client:

Confidential Client

Location:

Western Canada

Project Summary:

Equinox provided engineering and economic evaluations to reduce carbon emissions for a standalone Carbon Capture Plant for a single turbine with an average 30 MW power rating range, with emissions of 300 tonnes of CO2 per day. The Carbon Capture system would treat flue gas (2.5% to 3.5% CO2) generated by the gas turbine.

The Post-combustion evaluation reviewed various technologies and identified leading options for treating the low CO2 concentrations found in the flue gas.

Overview:

  • Post-combustion carbon capture
  • CO2 capture, CO2 stripping
  • CO2 compression
  • Dehydration
  • Ancillary systems

Scope of Work:

  • Conceptual Study
  • Technology Evaluation
  • Equipment Evaluation
  • Facility Layout & Modeling
  • Key Engineering Drawings
  • HAZOP & Safety Workshops
  • CAPEX, OPEX evaluation

Bayu Undan has potential to capture and store 10 million tonnes/yr of carbon dioxide, making it one of the largest CCS projects globally.
