Support to Indigenous Peoples

Alignment and Inclusiveness

Equinox has a very comprehensive program for Aboriginal policies, support, and engagement including annual investment directly into the indigenous community, procurement policies to identify and include indigenous businesses within bidding activities, to encourage and monitor inclusion of Indigenous businesses by sub-contractors. At Equinox we strive for inclusion of Indigenous partners at all levels including early-stage planning, capacity support strategy, and development of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) policies.

Through mutual consultation we seek to maintain ESG policies that enhance alignment with Indigenous values and goals, and drive beneficial outcomes for all parties. We believe ESG policy development should always be inclusive, and are committed to ongoing dialog with Indigenous partners.

Professional Development

Educational opportunities are an important stepping stone in professional development, at Equinox we provide scholarships for Indigenous students at the University of Calgary designed to empower and support upcoming talent. We encourage Indigenous candidates to our engineering and technical roles, and actively employ career sites such as Indigenous Link to identify applicants. We also provide an easy mechanism for new applicants to voluntarily self disclose Indigenous heritage.
