South East Australia Carbon Capture (SEA CCS) – 0.7 mtpa

Client:

ExxonMobil – Low Carbon Solutions

Location:

Southern Australia

Project Summary:

Equinox has completed the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) for the South East Australia SEA CCS Project. The FEED study includes the onshore gas processing facility design to capture 1.7 million tonnes per year of carbon dioxide for transport and sequestration. The new grassroots facility will capture CO2 from the Longford Gas Plant.

The SEA CCS project also includes a 19-km CO2 export pipeline that connects to offshore sequestration.

Overview:

  • Reciprocating Compression (EMD)
  • TEG Dehydration
  • CO2 Metering
  • Switchgear Package
  • HV Transformer
  • Utilities
  • Dense Phase CO2 Transportation

Scope of Work:

  • FEED Engineering
  • Technology Selection
  • Equipment Specification
  • Facility Layout & Modeling
  • Key Engineering Drawings
  • HAZOP & Safety Workshops
  • CAPEX, OPEX Estimating

Bayu Undan has potential to capture and store 10 million tonnes/yr of carbon dioxide, making it one of the largest CCS projects globally.
