Fractionation Plant
Carbon Capture (0.3 to 0.5 mtpa)

Fractionation Plant Carbon Capture

Client:

Confidential Client

Location:

Western Canada

Project Summary:

Equinox provided engineering and economic evaluations to reduce carbon emissions of one of Canada’s largest (210,000 bpd) fractionation facilities. The Carbon Capture system would treat flue gas generated by the facility’s Cogeneration unit, and two natural gas fired heaters, which generate 0.3 mtpa of CO2.

The evaluation reviewed various technologies and identified leading options for treating the low CO2 concentrations (< 9%) found in the facility flue gas.

Overview:

  • Flue Gas System
  • CO2 Capture / Amine regeneration
  • Supercritical CO2 Compression
  • Heat Medium
  • TEG Dehydration
  • Amine Reclaimer system
  • Wastewater system

Scope of Work:

  • Conceptual Study Engineering
  • Technology Evaluation
  • Equipment Evaluation
  • Process Simulations
  • Facility Layout & Modeling
  • Key Engineering Drawings
  • Economic Modeling
  • CAPEX, OPEX Estimating
