Project Summary:

Equinox conducted an engineering and economic study for a hydrogen production project.

The project included the feasibility of designing and constructing hydrogen production facilities in central Alberta, Canada to produce 2,000 kg/day of hydrogen, utilizing a raw sweet gas feed product. The project also evaluated expansion of the facility to 10,000 kg/day (4.14 MMscfd).

Primary study topics included discussion of equipment supply (research and contact with potential suppliers of packaged solutions), transportation options (how the product is to get the H2 to market), project economics & commercial options – regarding product Price / Cost Analysis / OPEX / CAPEX and hydrogen production project options.

Overview:

  • Natural Gas Conditioning
  • Steam Methane Reformer
  • Hydrogen Production
  • Hydrogen compression, storage
  • Carbon Capture
  • CO2 compression, dehydration
  • Water treatment

Scope of Work:

  • Conceptual Study Engineering
  • Technology Evaluation
  • Equipment Evaluations
  • Process Simulations
  • Facility Layout & Modeling
  • Key Engineering Drawings
  • CAPEX, OPEX Estimating
