Equinox provides world class expertise in gas processing, gas treating and liquids recovery facilities design. We have designed and constructed over 80 gas processing trains worldwide. Our experience includes a wide range of processing and treating facilities including refrigeration plants, amine sweetening, sulphur recovery, mercury removal, acid gas transportation and disposal, glycol dehydration, mole sieve dehydration, cryogenic processing plants, turbo-expanders, NGL recovery and fractionation.

Arcadia Central Processing Facility (80 TJ/d)

Equinox successfully executed the FEED and Detail Design of the recently constructed and commissioned Arcadia Gas Processing Facility in Queensland, Australia. Equinox worked closely with our client to develop and follow a Standard Design / Catalogue program, reducing the overall Total Installed Cost and accelerating the schedule. Read more.

Scotia Central Processing Facility (90 TJ/d)

Equinox executed the Concept, FEED and Detail Design for the Scotia Central and Flank CF1 Plant Expansion Project located in eastern Queensland, Australia. The brownfield expansion leveraged the Equinox ‘Standard Design’ and included the addition of main compression (4 x gas engine driven CAT 3608 and Ariel reciprocating JGD/4, 4-stage).

Moomba Brownfield Program

Equinox has successfully executed numerous Brownfield upgrade and optimization projects at the Moomba gas processing facility, regarding the liquid recovery trains, the CO2 Recovery units, compression units.

Wapiti Gas Processing (200 TJ/d)

Equinox successfully executed the FEED and Detail Design of the SemCAMS Wapiti Gas Plant under budget and ahead of schedule. This project included the design and installation of a grassroots, sour gas processing facility of 200 TJ/d raw inlet gas with up to 8% H2S. It includes gas sweetening, acid gas compression / dehydration, acid gas blending scheme for existing pipeline disposal, tie-ins for acid gas deep well disposal, and a C3+ recovery facility. Pipestone Liquids Hub (22,000 bpd)

Equinox Engineering delivered the Pipestone Liquids Hub project 10% under budget, and 2 months ahead of schedule. Located outside of Grande Prairie Alberta, this project involved the installation of a facility designed to process and stabilize 3,498 m3/day (22,000 bpd) of sour emulsion. The emulsion contained 2,226 m3/day (14,000 bpd) of raw condensate and 1,272 m3/day (8,000 bpd) of produced water with up to 8% H2S.  Read more.

Glacier Sour Gas Plant Expansion (400 TJ/d)

Equinox executed the FEED, Detail Design, Construction and Installation phase of Advantage Oil & Gas’ Glacier Plant Expansion. This expansion increased the overall processing capacity of the facility from 260 TJ/d to 400 TJ/d, improved the facility’s overall flexibility by twinning equipment, and solved long-standing liquid management and operational issues. Kakwa Sour Gas Plant (200 TJ/d)

Equinox executed the FEED, Detail Design, installation, and commissioning of a large sour, deep-cut gas plant facility. Rolled out in three phases. the scope included; Phase I – 50 TJ/d sweet gas plant, Phase II – 200 TJ/d gas plant with deep cut (turbo-expander) liquids recovery, and Phase III – 200 TJ/d Amine Sweetening. Many of our processing projects include condensate stabilization, turbo-expander processes for increased C2+ recovery, propane refrigeration processes for C3+ recovery, liquid fractionation trains as well as condensate, NGL and LPG storage.

Simonette Gas Plant

FEED and Detail Design and installation of 50 TJ/d expansion of the existing Simonette plant. The process train includes slug catcher, liquids / liquids separator, inlet separation, condensate stabilizer, stabilizer overheads compressor, inlet/sales compression (2370 HP), refrigeration, de-ethanizer overheads compressor, LACT units (sales gas, condensate, LPG), produced water injection, storage for produced water and condensate. This will also provide incremental LPG production of 2,700 bpd and incremental stabilized condensate production of 9,000 bpd.

Dawson Sour Gas Plant (120 TJ/d)

FEED and Detail Design for a sour gas plant with process trains (2 x 60 TJ/d) containing inlet separation, inlet/sales compression (4 reciprocating compressors totaling 15,000 hp), amine sweetening (CO2 and H2S removal), refrigeration, liquid fractionation and stabilization, acid gas compression, vapour recovery, recycle system, power generation (2 x 4.6 MW gensets), storage for produced water, condensate (275 bpd) and NGL (171 bpd) with truck-out facility.

Musreau Phase 1 Gas Plant (45 TJ/d)

FEED and Detail Design for a gas plant which includes inlet separation, condensate stabilization, inlet/sales compression (5 reciprocating compressors totaling 10,000 hp), refrigeration, de-ethanizer, a vapour recovery, recycle system, storage for produced water, condensate (800 bpd) and NGL (912 bpd) with truck-out facility.

Pouce South Sour Gas Plant (60 TJ/d)

FEED and Detail Design for a 2 process train gas plant containing inlet separation/slug catcher, inlet/sales compression (4 reciprocating compressors totaling 7,920 hp), amine sweetening (CO2 and H2S removal), refrigeration, condensate stabilization, acid gas compression, vapour recovery, recycle system, storage for produced water and condensate (390 bpd) and truck out facility.

Tooga Gas Plant (60 TJ/d)

Modular facility designed for remote transport and assembly. 60 TJ/d capability to handle inlet process gas @ 50 ppm H2S & 3.5% CO2. Equipped with inlet separation, condensate blowcase, compression/dehydration to transmit sour process gas and condensate liquids through 22 km of 8″ pipeline to the Peggo Processing Plant. New train includes inlet separation & compression, amine sweetening, and dew point control refrigeration.

West Doe Sour Gas Plant (100 TJ/d)

FEED & Detail Design for a sour gas plant with three process trains totaling 100 TJ/d with process gas conditions of 2.6% H2S and 3.0% CO2 from the Montney. Facility includes containing inlet separation, inlet compression, amine sweetening, refrigeration, liquid fractionation and stabilization, acid gas compression, vapour recovery and recycle system, sales compression. Power generation includes one Solar Taurus 59 (4500 KW) genset and five 550 KW natural gas driven electrical generators). Also includes storage for produced water, condensate and NGL with truck-out facility.

Pouce Coupe Sour Gas Plant (60 TJ/d)

A modular facility designed for ease of transportation and remote assembly. 60 TJ/d capability to handle inlet process gas containing 1.5% H2S and 3.0% CO2. The process trains contain, line heating, inlet separation/ pipeline slug catcher, amine sweetening, refrigeration, liquid fractionation and stabilization, acid gas compression, vapour recovery, recycle system and final sales compression. The Pouce Coupe Gas Plant also contains storage for produced water, condensate and NGL with truck out facilities. Acid gas produced from the amine plant is disposed of onsite using a (500 hp) electric driven compressor.

THIOPAQ Bio-Desulphurization

We are the only Canadian EPCM, and one of few worldwide, with approval for detailed engineering design of sour gas and sulphur recovery projects regarding THIOPAQ Biological Desulphurization Process. This technology removes H2S from natural gas and converts it directly to elemental sulphur utilizing naturally occurring, non-genetically modified microorganisms of the Thiobacillus family. We provided services for the first (and only) high-pressure natural gas applications including Bantry Gas Plant (12 TJ/d, 1 t/d sulphur) and the Valhalla Gas Plant (2 TJ/d, 2 t/d sulphur).
