Power Plant - Carbon Capture, Transportation and Sequestration (1.7 mtpa)

Hannibal Power Plant Carbon Capture, Transportation and Sequestration

Client:

Long Ridge Energy

Location:

Ohio, USA

Project Summary:

Equinox delivered this Conceptual Study for existing Gas Turbine Power Generation Facility treating 1.7 Bcf of exhaust gas to recover 76 MMscfd of 96% CO2.

The new facility will capture 1.6 mtpa of CO2, utilizing a post-combustion capture scheme.   Primary components include inlet cooling tower, formulated amine CO2 recovery technology, intercooled and injection compression. Captured CO2 is processed to more than 90% purity prior to dehydration. The captured CO2 would be compressed (centrifugal), dehydrated (TEG dehydration) and sent to a transportation pipeline for Enhanced Oil Recovery.

Overview:

  • Flue Gas Blower, Cooler
  • Quench System
  • Heat Medium system
  • Amine-based CO2 capture system
  • EMD Centrifugal compression
  • TEG Dehydration
  • Amine Reclaimer system
  • Wastewater system
  • Utilities

Scope of Work:

  • Conceptual Study Engineering
  • Technology Evaluation
  • Equipment Evaluations
  • Process Simulations
  • Facility Layout & Modeling
  • Key Engineering Drawings
  • Economic Modeling
  • CAPEX, OPEX Estimating
