Carbon Capture

Kakwa River Gas Processing Facility Carbon Capture

Client:

Paramount Resources

Location:

Western Canada

Project Summary:

Equinox provided the FEED and Detail Design and installation of grassroots Gas Processing Complex (200 MMscfd) which included deep cut, cryogenic liquids recovery, centrifugal compression, power generation, amine sweetening.

The amine solvent-based capture system separates carbon dioxide (up to 95% CO2, 5% H2S). The non-dehydrated (wet) CO2 is transported to incineration via stainless steel with material selection and metallurgy being critical component of the system.

Overview:

  • Inlet Separation
  • Heat Medium system
  • Amine-based CO2, H2S capture system
  • Centrifugal compression (26,440 hp)
  • Gas Turbine Power Generation (11 MW)
  • Waste Heat Recovery
  • Turbo expander and mole sieve dehy
  • Reciprocating Inlet compression
  • Propane refrigeration
  • Utilities

Scope of Work:

  • FEED, Detail Design Engineering
  • Technology Selection
  • Equipment Specification
  • Facility Layout & Modeling
  • Key Engineering Drawings
  • HAZOP & Safety Workshops
  • Procurement
  • Commissioning & Start-up
