Duvernay Hydrogen Production Production, Carbon Capture and Enhanced Oil Recovery

Client:

Confidential Client

Location:

Western Canada

Project Summary:

Equinox conducted an engineering and economic study for a hydrogen fuels project. The project included the conversion of inlet methane gas to a hydrogen product.

The hydrogen plant captures 200,000 mtpa of carbon dioxide for Enhanced Oil Recovery. Produced hydrogen volumes of 50 tonnes per day go to a truck out facility. The project targets the goal of transition to net-zero emission energy sources.

Overview:

  • Natural Gas Conditioning
  • Steam Methane Reformer
  • Hydrogen Production
  • Hydrogen compression, storage
  • Carbon Capture
  • CO2 compression, dehydration
  • Enhanced Oil Recovery

Scope of Work:

  • Conceptual Study Engineering
  • Technology Evaluation
  • Equipment Evaluations
  • Process Simulations
  • Facility Layout & Modeling
  • Key Engineering Drawings
  • CAPEX, OPEX Estimating
